VP Sales & Business Development

SUMMARY

Reporting to Kinetic’s CEO and working closely with Kinetic’s executive team, the VP of Sales & Business Development will be responsible for driving global sales of Kinetic’s SaaS platform and professional service offering. 

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

The VP Sales and Business Development will have the following responsibilities. 

Sales Development

  • Develop and manage a consistent sales funnel for Kinetic’s SaaS and professional service offerings.
  • Generate new leads, convert leads into opportunities, and close new clients/accounts.
  • Evaluate, identify and close new opportunities with existing clients/accounts.  
  • Select and configure the software platforms to use to manage and report on Kinetic’s sales funnel.  
  • Develop and manage sales presentations and product/platform demonstrations to prospective clients.
  • Continuously track, measure and evaluate Kinetic’s sales funnel activity. 
  • Continuously communicate Kinetic’s sales funnel activity to Kinetic’s executive team.   
  • Develop documentation on Kinetic’s sales process and create a new sales playbook.
  • Onboard and manage new sales team members (*as the business/sales team grows). 

Strategic Partnerships

  • Develop and manage Kinetic’s partner program.  
  • Define partner segments and identify key partners within each segment.
  • Develop partner program materials and present the program to potential partners. 
  • Select and configure software platforms to use to manage and report on Kinetic’s sales partner program.  
  • Continuously grow Kinetic’s partner network and manage key partner relationships. 
  • Develop joint sales funnels/activities, generate joint opportunities and close accounts with partners.
  • Continuously evaluate and communicate partner activity to Kinetic’s executive team.  

Client Success

  • Collaborate with Kinetic’s Director of Client Success to develop strong relationships with Kinetic’s key clients.
  • Collaborate Kinetic’s Director of Client Success to monitor, track and measure progress with Kinetic’s key clients. 
  • Collaborate with Kinetic’s Director of Client Success to continuously identify and develop new sales opportunities with existing clients. 
  • Collaborate with Kinetic’s Director of Client Success to develop comprehensive case studies for key clients.
  • Collaborate with Kinetic’s Director of Client Success to report on key client performance and new opportunities with key clients. 

Brand Evangelism

  • Provide support in the development, implementation and management of Kinetic’s marketing plan.
  • Provide support in the development of sales/marketing materials for Kinetic’s product/service offering.
  • Attend and represent Kinetic at key industry events (ie. NRF, CES, DX3 etc.).
  • Manage the utilization of Kinetic’s marketing budget.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

The VP Sales & Business Development will possess the following qualifications. 

  • 5+ years of experience in SaaS sales (professional service sales is a significant bonus). 
  • 3+ years selling SaaS to enterprise retailers in a client acquisition role that required consultative selling with an emphasis on eCommerce and mobile commerce solutions
  • Experience with selling in-store / associate mobile technology
  • Experience with developing go-to-market strategies/plans.
  • Experience with developing/managing sales activities via partner programs
  • Deep knowledge and expertise in the retail / eCommerce / mobile commerce market
  • Proven history of developing, managing and measuring a sales funnel
  • Proven history of selling SaaS and professional services to C-Level executives across business units (IT, Marketing, Operations etc.).
  • Proven history of setting and exceeding sales objectives/quotas
  • Demonstrated ability to be a self-starter with a highly entrepreneurial mindset 
  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and deliver sales presentations and product/platform demonstrations to C-level executives
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and communicate sales activity/performance to internal executive teams
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams 
  • Experience with leading sales / CRM platforms such as Salesforce 
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally
